Palmyra Residents get backed by a prominent Perth Real Estate company, Caporn Young in their recent mail-out.

 the brochure reads:

By now you have heard much in the media about the $1.6 billion Perth Freight Link

Regardless of opinions on whether it’s a worthwhile project, there is a bigger question of how it will impact you as a resident of Palmyra.

Considering current reports, the biggest impact will be the potential loss of homes in Moody Glen, due to the additional four lanes along Leech Highway to support the freight trucks.
While there has been talk of sound barriers being placed along Leech Highway to minimise noise, there are no specifics in the public documents about what type of products will be used, or exactly where they will be located. This means there is potential for the increase in noise pollution from the project.

My thoughts about the result? This could impact home prices in the more southern parts of Palmyra, which may overall impact the average price of the suburb. This may not affect potential buyers looking to live in the suburb, but will impact investors if they are taking the suburbs median price into consideration.

Another point of concern, as reported in the West Australian 29.7.2015, is a secret Barnett Government document from August 2012 shows that a new bridge to replace the Fremantle traffic bridge is required. Meaning if the estimated $250 million project isn’t added, there is no point for the Freight Link.
