AT a gathering of the Perth business elite on Thursday, Transport Minister Dean Nalder promised the Barnett Government would start awarding contracts for the much maligned $1.6 billion Perth Freight Link by December. 

 

Maybe it was the delivery of the speech, or maybe it was the never-ending cold Nalder has been battling which left his voice hoarse, but he sounded anything but convincing.

“The best advice I have at this stage from the department is that we will still be able to move to contract by December,” he said.
